Merry Christmas to all: Here is a trip that we had decided to do at the parents and patrol leaders meetings in December. (minutes to follow as I have been enjoying the holiday) SCOUT TRIP WHEN: Saturday, December 29, 2007 WHERE: The Constitution Center and Independence Hall WHY: To learn more about America and why its our very special country. To get REQUIREMENT 4a, 4b, 4c completed for the Merit Badge. WHAT TO Bring: Trainfare($9.25), Admission for the Constitution Center ($12 for adults and $8 for 12 and under), lunch or lunch money (the cafeteria is quite expensive). The Boy Scouts of Troop 210 have been working on their American Heritage merit badge. They have been learning about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitutions of Pennsylvania and the United States. Troop 210 will be visiting the Constitution Center and Independence Hall in Philadelphia on Saturday, December 29th. Please note that security policies in those buildings do not allow knives and penknives and that all backpacks get stored away during your visit. The Troop will be meeting at the Yardley train station at 8:45 A.M. to catch the 9:01 train to Philadelphia. (If you get on as a group, you can get 2 adults and 3 kids together and get a family round trip rate.) Scouts and a parent or guardian living near Neshaminy Falls station may catch the train there arriving at 9:10A.M. (If you get on as a group, you can get 2 adults and 3 kids together and get a family round trip rate.) We will walk to the Constitution Center at 6th and Arch Streets. The Center has many exciting interactive exhibits. We will also visit the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall (you need free tickets to see this) just two blocks down Sixth Street. Weather permitting we will also hike the History Trail in the Independence Hall area. (Merit Badge requirement 4c) We plan to catch the 4:40 P.M. train to Yardley with a 5:30 P.M. arrival time so that we can see the Christmas decorations at sunset. Remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Please RSVP to me if you are going as I need to get a total amount for the tour permit. YIS Bridget Kelly
